Hasn’t there always been betting shops …..and in fact are there less now than there used to be…?

they used to exist somewhere out of the way that only the users of them knew about. do not know who brought the law in to allow all of them to appear not only in town centres but in some districts of towns where there is just a parade of shops. there might be the odd closes but hardly making a difference. would the majority of people miss any vape or betting shop. an empty shop is better.

I was in Sowerby Bridge and Hebden Bridge at the weekend and saw many vape shops but not one betting shop, betting shops are becoming rarer than hen's teeth so puzzled by that statement, a lot of the vape shops now seem to sell sweets too.

still cannot think of a single betting shop thats shut down. if they have it must be fue to the ability of doing it all on line. agree about the vape shops as there seem as many as the people you see vaping. funny how at the outset vapes were the best thing out if it stopped a single person smoking fags and now they have become lower than a turkish barger.

Perhaps it was simply a gaffe from Andy Burnham ie he meant 'barber shops' not 'betting shops'? Let's cut the guy a bit of slack, it can't have been easy to ascend from being a council leader in miserable, leftie Manchester to a veritable Messiah, saviour of the country in a matter of weeks - especially when he elected to piss off on holiday shortly after the laurels were placed on his head.

Yeah, lure them in to become vaping regulars.

Let’s not….. because it’s just been confirmed on the news that he actually did say betting shops…..

Vapes and electronic cigarette products are illegal in Thailand but the law isn’t strictly enforced as they are openly sold at the markets. Cannabis was removed from the narcotics list a few years back with 10000 shops opening up but now they curtailed it for medical purposes only and you now require a prescription from a ‘medical practitioner’.

Once weak Goverments loosen the rules, gullible people assume it’s safe and good for you…it isn’t.
