Neither of the last two need an introduction so come on show you mean business and get some proven quality in before they are snapped up elsewhere.

This is Pools we are talking about. How many times has this kind of thing happened but the target player always goes elsewhere. If we sign either of them I wil be flabbergasted.

See York have announced that they're signing Mark Shelton - I thought he didn't adapt particularly well to League 2 when we went up, but he's been a regular with Barnet this season and they just missed out on the play-offs.

I dont think He was all that brilliant but if you play for a team who are on the front foot the majority of the time, clean sheets will keep on coming. I thought our loan star, Cartwright was the real business. Cant help wondering how things might have turned out if he had played for us all season. The fact Harrison Male has been released suggests Maynard doesnt rate him, golden Gloves or not.

We should 100% be trying to sign John permanently. His versatility in being able to play as the left sided CB in a three, or as a LB in a 4 would be invaluable. He can actually play well in both positions too. Sinclair, I guess it would depend on the system our new manager would want to play. If it includes wingers, where I think Sinclair works best, then by all means, but if we play with wing backs maybe Sinclair wouldn’t have a regular place.

John I’d definitely sign….Sinclair is like the curates egg, good in parts.
He has a lot of clubs under his belt, but that could be because he might not have found a club he feels at home at…a happy player is an asset to a ‘team’.
If we did sign him I wouldn’t be concerned, but we need a real team who get on…football was never about eleven individuals.

I'd take them both, Cam John was one of our most consistent and better players all season. Versatile as already said in where he plays in defence, but also likes to get forward down the left.
Sinclair showed in spells how a winger with genuine pace can open up defences and create chances. We need the likes of him even if it's to use as an impact sub, too many times last season our subs were almost 100% of the time like for like and made it easy for the opposition.
I'd have Cartwright or Evans back, or find a decent young keeper on a season long loan as Rochdale did with 17 year old (when he signed) Whatmuff.

the big thing in favour of signing them is we know what we are getting. might be better players out there but you never know how they,ll fit or settle in the side.

if we don,t or sign others as good we know which shop window the club is looking in. anyway nobody are going to be signed until the new manager is behind his desk. longer that does not happen the choices will get limited.

Agree. How many of the players we signed last season are from the North-East? Walker and Johnson, who were both crap. And the kid Donaldson who hasn't featured with the first team yet.

It's a lazy excuse. If the money's right and it looks like it will be a winning team, players will come.

you would have thought that was something from the past. we once haf a ramshackle looking ground with poor changing rooms and even poorer washing facilities. some players actually dreaded playing at the vic once a season never mind for the club. those fays are long gone and the area itself has a lot to offer that the club does not sell to prospective players. play for weadstone etc. and you,d be lucky to buy a slum for the price you could spend on a good property in the NE. less conjestion, more open spaces and depending on your point of view less worry at the moment who your neighbours might be.

Sounds like Tyrese Sinclair has signed for Livingston in the SPL

He has indeed. And they're about to be relegated to the Scottish Championship. So that's where he'll be playing next season.

And to think he could have been smashing the playoffs with Pools

just thinking that he might be playing against some of those crap ex poolies who went back up there. i,m sure they could have found a better name for that league but the championship. that sounds too good.
