The Poolie Bunker

Like me, my ipad is old and now I cannot connect to the Bunker. It just says that it is trying to connect to a secure connection but never does! Has there been an update using new stuff that my old ipad cannot cope?

Are you using a security VPN? I sometimes have to disable mine to get on The Bunker. A bit of a nuisance as the Bunker's about the only site left not trying to sell us stuff!

I have not changed any settings for months and posted using the ipad a few days ago.

I've tried similar with my old (now retired) Ipad. If you haven't already tried then this is worth a spin...

1) Clear cookies/history as there might be something in the cache or some cookies that are interfering with connections.
2) Check the time and date that the Ipad is set to are correct (sounds daft but if they're not then it might reject security certificates from secure websites).
3) Turn airplane/flight mode on and off a few times. This might help reset network connections.
4) Try a different browser like firefox or chrome (free from App store). Sometimes changing browser can buy you a fair old bit of time with an older operating system.

I was gutted when my old Ipad (from 2015) gave up on me. Like all Apple machines - they give them a shelf life and once you can't upgrade them any more they're on borrowed time.

i,m on my 4th laptop since i first got my first back in 2008. got to say they seem to last a shorter time without problems as i get a replacement. bit like all electric goods in my opinion.

Thanks fckpoolie, I will try a few things but my old ipad cannot take newer browsers.
If nothing works I will give up on it.
