I don't think Fergy, Shankly, Review, Cloughie and countless others had any coaching badges either and most modern day coaches / managers are anywhere near as good. Far too many have a one dimensional view of the game and cannot or will not change tactics as the situation dictates. How many of the modern day managers could achieve what Clough did with the bunch of misfits and cast offs he had at Forest?

All down to inspiring your players and do the job you demand of them
You can’t learn leadership, certificate or no certificate, you’ve either got it or you haven’t.

You're right - he doesn't stand comparison with Fergie, Shankly, Revie or Cloughie. If you're ever on Mastermind and that one comes up you've got in nailed

I did say "for the like of Fev" not specifically him! They would have for the likes of Cooper man, Challinor, Murray, Knowles, etc.
As said, leadership can't be coached, and leaders don't hang their team out to dry.

but managers at the top of the game bare no comparison to those. the game has got so technical now or people are being paid good money to con us all that it has. then the players themselves are different.ask em to run through a paper wall and they,d need advice from the PFA or their agent first to check their contract.
