I see Darlo are nailed on for the NLN play offs. Does anyone know if the ground is up to National league standards?

they can ground share with us, anything to help out a local club.

Could have Darlo, South Shields and Scarborough in the playoffs if Fylde pip Shields to the title.

Quite fancy Scarborough, haven't been there for a Pools match since Nov 98.

I'm a Darlo fan.

Firstly we are not "nailed on" for the playoffs, there are 7 games left and the next 4 are toughies!

Secondly, I believe that the ground is not up to standard however it could be, given that there is a grace period allowed.

I used to love it there too but the ground is miles from the seafront now, not a pub anywhere near it.

As a lifelong Poolie - I'd like to see Darlo come up. The fact that they even still exist is a credit to their supporters and I'd rather have another NE club in this division than some moneybags posh village in Gloucestershire with a population of 5000. I don't want them beating Pools though...

Aye, Darlo have suffered long enough, they deserve a break…getting in this division would give them a chance to build up the club on and off the pitch.

think we must all agree that we want to play em again and beat em on top of that. surely things should have changed since there last play off refusal as the ground seems adequate to play 23 home league games on it. it might not be brilliant but cannot imagine that there are not worse around the NLN and NLS. still remember lowestoft being at that level and there ground was well down the list of east anglian grounds.

Yep, i’ve said many times that we are identical twins. The rivalry would be the same should they go up but I can’t imagine that many poolies won’t be rooting for them should they make the play offs.

for me its been a 70 year old journey of wanting us to do the double on them but wanting them to win there games to be permanent runners up to us every season.

Darlo lost 0-2 to the Kiddies tonight but still have a five point gap between 8th place Telford - and an eight point gap to the next three teams including Spenny. The National League derbies are still on for next season but Darlo can't afford to lose many more games.

North Ferriby! That little village near Hull, I went to a match there and the ground was primitive - they for a while were in the National League or whatever name it was called by back then. Another little team doped, as soon as the money stopped flowing in from non footballing sources, that was it.

I’ve reached the stage where instead of going for a match once a year, to going to Darlo for the theatre, the wife got me hooked….some similarities…finding somewhere to park, half time is hectic, the crowds and getting out afterwards.

do not think its that long back when they were splashing the cash at that level. i enjoyed my day there walking alongside the river up to the humber bridge. shit ground and pitch with most of the home clubs fans wearing hull city stuff. they should be a warning to those running the game and clubs without fanbases but loads of dosh should have there wings clipped quickly as buying success over a proper club is just not on.

Darlo look to have blown their chance of the play-offs. They need to win their last game and hope that either Chester or Buxton gets beat at home to a low-ranked team with nothing to play for. What are the odds?

South Shields could well miss out on the NLN's automatic promotion place too.
