Don't pay much attention to women's football but I am watching the Chelsea Arsenal game and I am surprised at the standard. I wonder how Pools would get on against the top womens' teams.

The BBC are pushing women’s football in the scores and fixtures with it taking precedence over men’s footy fixtures.

If you think that is a decent standard compared to the mens game then you know jack shit about football......... To even think these womens teams could live with even little old hartlepool is pathetic!!!

Womens football has come on leaps and bounds over the last few years, it's so professional now and a really good watch at times. But to compare it to mens football is ludicrous

The BBC show the woman's football news, fixtures results etc. in the main football section and then repeat it all again under the woman's section!

Keep the women's stuff under their own section only and leave the main football to men's only!

Or how about they remain the main section, "Men". Or would that word be classed as heresy!

unless you are after a job with the bbc. Only a few years back a top womens team were beaten by a load of male kids. its fine if you treat it for what it is like kids football but its miles away and always will be from the mens game apart from the publicity it gets which is completely OTT.

It is simple to compare. In the summer for the run up to the European Women's event the Swiss Women national side lost 7-1 to Luzern Under 15s, a club side bot's youth team.

Its a different game to mens football and I agree with Frankie, the standard and skill has improved a lot over the past few years. I enjoyed the recent Euros as a good spectacle. Women won't beat men at rugby, cricket or most other sports due to physicality. The BBC do oversell womens football but that's because they have nothing else to show and we have to blame Sky, TNT and the like for that. I'd rather see womens football than womens cricket or netball or hockey. Just for the record men are shite at giving birth.

If they want to play football, let them.

Exactly - but women's football doesn't exist in my world, I simply ignore it and switch off/over to something interesting - it's in the same place as Rugby League, Professional Darts, NFL, Loose Women, This Morning, Ant & Dec, Death in Paradise, Mrs Brown's Boys, any of the Soaps, all quiz shows except The Chase, anything featuring Allison Hammond, The Masked Singer, Strictly, - and each and every party Political Broadcast. I do watch Pools though - a dull life or what?

You missed out the ‘Bake Off’…but I have no desire to watch women’s football, rugby , cricket, tennis and golf……just like I don’t watch the men playing them…I just like my footy….I’m easy pleased.

i,m sure there is a better alternative if they cannot show mens football. how about showing the lads in youth and under 21 football. those levels have also improved over the years with some of them playing the best football of there careers.
