Basicly, No More my mate (at such and such a club) said he is a good player.

I believe that's the Brentford model- would take half the success they've had in recent seasons if offered, they've made a few quid too!

Ah, the curse of the ‘mate’ who has a different definition of ‘good’ from the Oxford English Dictionary’ definition of the word.

Both have their drawbacks…the only ‘eyes’ that count are your own eyes.

Analytical Road.[/quote]

Is that going to be the new name of Clarence Road as in currently the "Cross eyed Lion?

has anybody ever contacted pools regarding players they have seen on a number of occasions. in the mid 80,s i did adter moving to rugby and watched a hell of a lot of non pools games. nobody would speak on the phone and letters went unanswered till i just stopped doing it. a few went to other clubs like we were both carlisle and stockport plus the possibility of getting teddy sheringham on loan before the mighty aldershot did as he was played out of position at millwall then.

Common complaint from Pools fans over the years about emails being unanswered but possible down to the fact that the staff weren’t allowed to, only the hierarchy could and ignored them. Let’s hope the new owner has better communication with the fans than the previous owners.
Also I don’t think they would take recommendations from outside football either.

just how many emails will pools get on a daily basis i wonder. like us they,ll get the crap we just delete and more than likely fans ones will go the same way. funny you mention recommendations from outside football. its a funny old industry like what the ex manager peter madden once told me. its a hard industry to get into but once in you,ll be there for life if you want to be. just because you have played X number of games does not make you a fountain of all knowledge where a good number will never watch football away from their clubs and some actually fo not like the game.
