The Poolie Bunker

For me the problems lie at the very top and nothing has really changed except the chairmans name

The gulf in quality between us and Wimbledon was just embarrassing. We just left after 60 mins and went to watch the rest of the scores coming in at Kingstonian's clubhouse. Could've stayed and shouted and balled but after looking at some of the players going through the motions I couldn't be arsed.

That sounds like a serious managemnet issue to me. OK, some wont like that, but if the majority of fans are saying the players are just going through the motions, then the manager is to blame.

Its been said a million times before at a million other clubs. The manager loses the dressing room.

Yes the players need to be shot, but the reality is, the manager carries the can.

It's a shame about a lot of the in fighting. I can honestly say that this season i'm really losing my love of watching and supporting Hartlepool. Wouldn't have thought twice about missing the chance to go to a game, now i genuinely question whether its worth it.

With the blame, it's all a horrible cycle that must be broken. Players playing crap is due to lack of motivation or tactics from the manager. Management not getting it right is due to the payers they have, not the best because the board will only allow funds. No funds from the board because of lack of interest in sponsoring such a cack team. Everybody is then impacted, but no one person/group is to blame.

Chip's comment is spot on. I remember in 2005 competing and beating teams like Swansea, Bourenmouth, i hesitate to say blackpool, MK Dons and Sheff Wed...look where they are now. I don't think we can blame one department of the club/fans etc, but the whole ethos needs to change around the club and everybody does need to do their bit. If only we knew how to turn it round in one move, but i fear there's too much wrong...

It's gone to far Chip {great post by the way}but people are now just sick to death of the club.

38 years for me and this is the worse i've ever seen!!!

The last 6 years have been pathetic.

we never even replaced porter oh to watch him again.

I have a season ticket but will not be back to watch that zero effort shite in a hurry.

I'm finished and i'm not alone.

I with one or two specific exceptions the 'in fighting' from the message board side is waning. Now that the detail of the Trust is out there people are understanding what its all about. The membership is over 100 in the first couple of weeks of taking members and its very early days.

The point of the Trust is to be a united from and ask the questions in a coherent voice. For instance; a question asked on social media can easily be ignored whereas if it comes from a Supporters Trust with a decent sized membership it is newsworthy. A Trust can publish open letters, liaise directly with the board of the football club and do stuff. A messageboard can do individual initiatives such as arrange fancy dress, release a record or other one offs. A trust is much more formal and answerable to its members.

The sooner everyone sees that its not a messageboard group the better. Only then can the fans really question the club and be directly involved formally.

It's starting to happen but its not there yet, there needs to be more co-operation and more people from all factions getting involved.

We can blame manager after manager all we want. The blame lies at the top once again. What I would like to know is why did they buy a football club if they cant improve things. Normally the best years with owners are at the start. So doesn't look particularly great for the future.

My thoughts exactly. The only statements being made are on twitter

Exactly, we don't have any loan repayments, healthy attendences for league 2, brought a lot of players in over the summer without lots of league 2 experience. Yet once again we are being told we are too poor to get a few decent loans in.

The litmus test for actual change will be when we see the back of Green and his cronies.

Surely the squad has improved compared with what we had last season - what the fans can't understand is why they've been piss poor for the last two months.
Comparing the players signed in close season and those who were released:

Paynter for Harewood
Carson for Flinders
Barrett for Maxted
Magnay for Austin
Carroll for Holden
Bingham and Oates for Franks and Compton (not like for like, but all attacking options)

I'd say all of those signings are an improvement on what Pools started with last season; in some cases a big improvement. Which leaves:

Worley for Parnaby - both long term sick notes - and Tommy Miller - not replaced, but a sick note for most of the season anyway.

The big difference between Moore's spell in charge last season and what's happening this is the quality of the loan signings he has made. Last season the likes of Tshibola and Mirfin lifted a really poor side; this season the side is mediocre at worst but the loan signings have been no better.

Assuming (for the moment) Moore hasn't lost the dressing room, I'd like to see him and Collins concentrate a lot harder on coaching and motivating the players they have got rather than relying on a revolving door of one month loans. How about scouting a decent midfielder and central defender to offer contracts to when the transfer window reopens?

we will be playing sub 1000 maybe not this year if they keep this up. Sadly I remember crowds of 988 etc
