Hodgy brought them to the club
and now is nowhere to be seen
their legs are tired
their muscles week
and they should leave the scene

and we might win the league
us chicken counters
after so many false dawns
are suffering from fatigue

the poolies go from strength to strength
and it is hard to watch
them storming up the football league
and are so bloody hard to match

a club like that should never be
higher up the table than us loids
as we have a better stadium than them
and we all know that is what counts

our crowds are small
but we are passionate as we beat our drum
but for the sake of nine more top class signings
we could be on a run

we started well with six big wins
and it was Pennies heaven
but alas the bubble burst
and it was unlucky seven

so older quakers should be dropped
and we should close the gate
as we go into a new year
