There should be no drive for anything…just the best person for the job regardless of their ethnicity.

when the noisy minority get all the jobs they want they will be saying the exact same thing. if the boot was on the other foot do anyone seriously think they would treat whites so much better than we treat them.

This drive for diversity is totally ridiculous, less than 4% of the women in the UK are black and therefore proportionally you'd expect about half a player in the team to be black. Having 3 or 4 black players shows that they're massively overrepresented. Which surely shows that if you're good enough, race, ethnicity, religion mean feck all?

How many black players do Pools have currently ?

Doesn’t bother me but one of the members brought up the original nationality of the current England players and the colour of their skin.

Again couldn't care less, if they're good enough and English they're the right colour.
Positive discrimination and quotas should be against the law, as someone said if you want to be the best you find the best and get the best out of them.

Hopefully quite a lot, considering how England played last night.

Tony Parry was the first coloured Pools player that I saw if memory serves me right. And a good player he was too.

plus he was one of our first promotion winning team and gave the club some much needed cash when he moved on.

Aye, Cloughie signed him Derby I believe.

Yes, apparently Cloughie's over-riding reason for signing him was to put some life-saving cash into Pools who were on the verge of going bust at the time, I think the fee was about £2.5k.
