Maybe that was because the majority of the defeats were absolute shit shows rather than closely fought better team won sort of thing. 4-0 at Woking, 7-0 at Wealdstone, 0-3 at home to Aldershot, 3-1 at Boston, the two cup exits. We can all accept our team will lose games but I think how the losses transpire is just as important as the results themselves. Just my take on it, anyway.

I don’t think the complaints were naturally against the wins in Featherstones tenure . It was his tactics . Playing with 9 men behind the ball and a loan striker can work with better players. Reid is not a bad player but is not suited as a hold up player. Arsenal play like this. However, the difference between them and us is that they get men in the box, technically better and are excellent in set plays . If you are not getting enough players forward then the ball is going to be lost in the final third. In the first third we were great playing the ball out but midfield were too deep . Further on the times we did get forward the crossing was very poor. Corners and set pieces also pretty poor. This sort of football is not easy on the eye which why most on here were frustrated . Most want expansive football with a high press . The best teams do this . Unfortunately we didn’t have the players to do it or Featherstone didn’t have the faith in his players to teach and develop them. Cattermole is a defensive midfielder so if he gets the job I expect lots of aggression and energy but an element of cautiousness . Let’s see . His tenure seems more or less confirmed
