The old adage of Made in Hong Kong disappeared years ago Snowy, the biggest percentage of electrical electronic stuff in your house has components made in China.
Chinese electric vehicles (EVs) are generally .considered very good, leading the global market in technology, battery efficiency, and value. They often cost less than European or American rivals while providing more standard equipment and better performance and come with long warranties of upto 7 years.

Back on topic about China, you are right Jamie, nearly everything is built in China these days and Sony sold their TV business to the Chinese this week.

I get plenty of stuff made in China tools wise and not a fan…but Tony told us we didn’t need to get our hands dirty and get a worthless degree…that worked out well.

Snowy the fella on the video was not associated with the manufacturer, it was an independent and informative review.
I agree about what Tony Blair did was a mistake but at the end of the day what choice did he have, the previous government destroyed British industry by trying to turn the U.K. in a service sector.
Here is another Chinese review not by the manufacturer of the car it’s not a promotional video, I thought you being a mechanically minded fella would be interested in new innovations even though I doubt you would ever buy an EV.

We had a company in the 70’s who were selling plastic replacement clips to replace stainless steel as fasteners on seas water pumps…they were indeed brilliant ..lighter easy to install , did the job and 10% of the price and a solid years continuous test running guarantee by the manufacturer….they should have tested them for two years, after 18 months they began to crumble…our chief engineer being a wily dog hung onto the stainless steel clips’just in case’ the sly bugge

A friend of mine owns an engineering company and he makes specialist machines. He tells me Chinese components are poor quality and he always seeks to buy elsewhere, buying elsewhere costs loads more but he wants his guarantees to stand, not to have to go back and fix breakdowns.

Buying elsewhere is also getting harder as multiple firms across Europe close or go bust. We shouldn’t get used to buying cheap stuff, it’s cheap for a reason!
