Assuming Daly, Sweeney unavailable....

Dimi

Humphreys (Wingback)
Clark
Barron (Sweeper)
Nelson
WilliamsD (Right wingback)

Strachan
Liddle
Boland

Porter
Foley

Subs: Provett, Brown, Robson, one of Jones or Low, Gibb

If it's 4-4-2...

Dimi

Humphreys
Clark
Nelson
WilliamsD (or Barron if not fit)

Robson
Strachan
Liddle
Brown

Porter
Foley (in Daly's absence)

Dimi (for now)

D. Williams
Nelson
Clark
Humphreys

Brown
Liddle
Strachen
Robson

Daly
Porter

Subs: Provett, Foley, Brackstone, Barron, Sweeney.

Edit: I missed out Liddle.

I'm gonna be lazy and go for Mr I's home team - therefore not having to write it out again. The ability to go 4-4-2 at any time would be important, putting Brown or Foley on the right wing, moving Porter up.
Away 4-4-2 with Brown and Foley coming off the bench and a proper right winger - Maidens or Eifion (???)- or a new signing in January more like

Are you for real? No Liddle?

Pressuming Dalys red card is overturned.

Provett

Barron
Nelson
Clark
Humphreys

Maidens
Liddle
Boland
Robson

Daly
Porter

Subs, Dimi, Foley, Strachan, Brown, P Turnbull.....

Assuming Daly is not available - Foley in place of Daly, Foley replaced by Maidens on the bench

AND EVERY ONE OF THEM PICKS HUMPREYS

HOW STRANGE WHEN HE ALONE GOT US RELEGATED

AND SINCE HIS RETURN WE ARE GARBAGE

SO YOU FINALLY ADMIT IT EH.....?

Ahem..............

As you well know Ian, I have no problem at all with him as a player in fact I think he is one of our top 11 players which to be honest is no great achievement!

Attitude is the important thing, probably as much as ability which is why we occasionally see results like Doncaster 3 Aston Villa 0

you two faced tart
you have slagged him mercilessly now you pick him for your starting eleven "top eleven player"
according to you
he is the mafia leader that cost us promotion
so tell me now he is the sole reason we have collected 1 point from the last 9
and what the hell are you trying to back up your argument with the donny villa score
it has no relevance
and how easy to be selective when you copy n paste

when i worked in industry there was a few blokes who were categorised as firms men the ones who always took the firms line
you fit the bill

Mine for Saturday assuming all are fit would be

Dimi

Barron Nelson Clark Humphreys

Maidens Strachan Liddle Robson

Daly Porter

Subs Provett, Foley, Brown, Boland, Brackstone

Of course I'm a 'firms man' I'm one of the bosses. I never went in for any of this working class hero stuff. These days I'm middle class and proud of it.

To the tune of 'The Red Flag'
The working class can kiss my arse, I've got the foremans job at last!

When I picked that team I selected it on the basis of who is available in each position. Humphreys is the best we have available in that position. I stand by everything I said about the dressing room mafia, it was the reason we lost two good managers. Even though Newell was universally unpopular there are few who would say that it was not a mistake in retrospect. Those days have thankfully gone now that Danny Wilson has clearly stamped on it.

I also stand by everything I said about ability. I was talking about attitude and when players are motivated they are far better players than when they are not; hence the mention of he Donny / Villa scoreline. Can anyone really claim that Doncaster have higher quality players than Villa? of course not yet they completely stuffed them because their attitude was spot on and they were motivated. The lack of those emotions were the reason we were relegated last season.

PS: We have only collected one in nine since RH's return but its not his fault.

PPS: I still love you xxx

dont talk to me about class
imo there are three classes
upper class of which i am part
working class to which i aspire
and the third is the pretentious class which includes all those who think they are middle class
as for motivation i think it is an insult to the player to say he lacks this quality he was prepared to come back and fight for his place despite an obvious snub from a new manger
the reason we were relegated was the board seen fit to give the job to a man who was out of his depth
and they decided in their business minds that everything will be ok if we give him more time that is business mind not foot balling mind all bosses are the same they think they know best
it could be argued that theses business minds also brought in the wrong man to rescue the sinking ship...but i absolve that former winger of all blame
we need a motivational manager do you think we have that now?

i also love you only for the PS: line

Dimi

Williams,Nelson,Clark,Liddle

Foley,Boland,Sweeney,Robson

Porter,Daly

Subs...Provett,Brown,Maidens,Barron,Strachan.

williams is not fit

P.Turnbull for him then.

Mind you i didnt think it was a first 11 for Saturday....i thought it was just a favourite 11 for any game?

dont think he knows his favourites or his first

Who?

Pick any eleven of our players who'll say the same sort of thing as Neil Wainwright from darLOW

** from the Northern Echo
NEIL Wainwright is aiming to put all his derby experience to good effect on Saturday - and admits the fans' pride is the Darlington players' number one priority.***

I hate it when the management and players come out with the same old sh1t about it just being another game although it's a 'big one' for the fans,
Yes I know the 3 points are important, so if we go out with a win only mentality we'll get the 3 points as well, but don't try and tell me that it's just another game, this is the enemy, this is darLOW, this would mean just as much as beating the Makems or the Mags, they are the enemy too, we must win, we cannot lose, a draw is no use.
We must show passion, we cannot be patient, we must go straight for the jugular, we must score early, we must score again just after that and then again just after that, THEN we can enjoy it, rubbing salt into their wounds, putting them in their rightful places, laughing at their pathetic attempts to match us, this is NOT just another game this is a derby match, we are at home , we have to win and we have to win well.
Points and a better league position will come with a win anyway so does pride so lets just make sure we get it.
I want to hear battle cry's from our players, I want them to let me know what it means to me and many others.
This game is no place for the young players either so forget Maidens, Brown and Foley (we could maybe get away with the last 2 on the bench), it's no place for sh1te players either which rules out, Brakka and Bullock and the way he's playing at the minute, Dimi.
Ok so I might have limited the choice of players but we need fighters and battlers out there, players who want to become legends in one game, roll on Saturday before I have a heart attack.

So Coddy, your team would have to be something like :-

Provett

Williams Nelson Clark Humphreys

? Bollund Liddle Robson

Daly Porter

subs: Dimi Strachan Foley Brown Barron

I haven't named a right midfielder as we have no one who qualifies.

But Brown doesn't qualify under Coddy's rules.

So lets think............. Ali Gibb or Eifion Williams, who should it be?

Good points, well made clap clap

best post yet and he is a bloody yakker
he has more bloody passion than some poolies

and congrats on the pass Dave
clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap

In a derby game, Eiffion Williams, if nowt else you'll get 100%, in fact why not just grab someone from the terraces to shoow some of these players what playing with pride and passion is all about

No I'm not, I forgot about Lidde. I also forgot that Sweeney may not be fit so Liddle for Sweeney and I'm sorted.

He'll give you 100% of almost got to that one and almost controlled that one.
