Any sightings or rumours of the new custodian of the poisoned chalice which is manager of Pools? Even Porter and Boyd have said nowt. Has anyone walked their dog past the Vic and seen Pete Wild, Challinor or anyone else?

These things can't be rushed. It took 3 weeks to pull off the masterstroke of appointing Lee Clark in pre-season.

I thought the deal only took a couple of days as we were hurtling towards signing the even less impressive Cattermole, up until about 3 days before he was appointed. At least Clark fell on his sword- Cattermole is still clinging on like a particularly stubborn night- watchman, that's refusing to be flushed- they'll have to take the bog brush to him soon!

Is it fair to blame Cattermole for his inability to do much at the basket case of a club that Gateshead currently are? Not saying I wanted him here but I'd guess Alex Ferguson, Pep, and Mourinho as a management team would struggle at the Heed.

Aye..their reaction time was like super tanker doing a handbrake turn…..and nothing much happening very slowly.
Our weakness this season is the organisation…what a way to run a ship.

Assisstent manager at Boro probably earning a decent wage so a move to Pools would be a pay cut but maybe he will accept that in order to have a go at management. Anyway, as you say it could be bollocks.
