Rob Law on X said after the match the reporters gathered as usual to speak to Clark unaware that he was going to resign,. Rob extended his hand for a handshake as normal, Clark ignored it then said ‘I see the vultures have gathered’

The version I heard was that Clark asked for all of the press to attend a single conference, yes he quipped the vultures have gathered, then he gave his resignation speech and disappeared into his office without answering a question from Rob Law and without shaking his hand.
His resignation statement was in fairness measured and respectful and without any criticism of anyone connected with the club or the fans, although he did say it's not nice to hear the fans criticism for him or his family and friends. He did say he was sorry he couldn't deliver what we the great fans of the club wanted but at 56 years old he wasn't going to take the flak.
His tenure as manager was awful in the footballing front, but his resignation statement and the timing of it was very dug field and respectful imo.

Only repeating what Rob Law said on X, I think it will be on Tees tonight, as manager you have to be prepared to take flak although none of the flak Clark received was directed at his family. I would imagine if you had school age kids in Hartlepool it could be different though, one reason Sweeney wouldn’t take the job as I believe he lives in Hartlepool.

Maybe so but your context is not the same as Laws pieces with Radio Tees, there was no acrimony and he didn't criticise the fans for the flak, he simply said it wasn't nice for him or his family and friends and that he wasn't prepared to take anymore, fair do's imo. The flak doesn't have to be directed at family or friends for them to be upset to hear it.

Your off again PTID, can’t wait can you, why do you always challenge what I say, my comment related to what Rob Law said on X not the post match interview. From what I remember Clark said to the reporters in waiting straight after the game in the tunnel the vultures have gathered then said he had resigned didn’t shake Rob Laws hand when offered and went into his office refusing to answer questions. He returned later to do a post match interview, no idea what he said then or who it was with.

Nothing to do with it being you Jamie, it's about your interpretation of what Rob Law said about Clarks resignation isn't the same as what I heard him say? I listened to 2 of Rob Laws like es, and to Clarks resignation statement and I reckon it was pretty dignified and respectful, the only criticism was of himself for not being up to the job.
Have you had professional help with your paranoia btw?

I believe Rusty Lee is still robbing a wage from the club whilst the other cretinous arsehole who I hasten to add, represents himself and NOT the fanbase (as he'd have people believe) is STILL freeloading in the comfy seats. They BOTH should have been shipped out as soon as Landon turned up. They both need binning ASAP - Both conducted themselves appallingly during the later tenure of Raj's stewardship, serving themselves whilst openly condoning and defending the deplorably divisive behaviour of the previous owner.

They may have been in the Directors box but neither are listed as Directors in Companies House. Rust doesn't appear to have ever been registered as a Director and Pearson resigned when Landon bought the club.
Still not sure what if any influence either have around the place?

I read somewhere before the weekend that Clark was quoted as stating that he and the players 'deserved the flak' - presumably the flak that they received during the recent away defeats. Whatever Clark is he's not stupid and would have expected that a large number of home fans would turn ugly should the Worthing game also start to drift away.

He must also have increasingly realised - like many of us during the past six games - that the squad as it stands would struggle to get anywhere near a play-off place. Perhaps he was surprised at the standard of even the lowly placed NL outfits.

So, yes, all credit to Cark for resigning before he was sacked - thus saving the club the cost of paying him off - and also avoiding another negative event on his CV of course . If the fans made the difference in him resigning or not on Saturday then so much the better.

Why you poking your nose in Snowy ah a chance to put the boot in, if you care to listen to what Rob Law said on X when the press approached Clark straight after the game it confirms what I posted. There was the initial contact with Clark straight after the game no questions answered and he disappeared into his office. There was a post match interview later, check your facts before slagging me off.

You need professional help PTID with your obsession/fixatation with me is like a rabbit caught in the headlights of a car, your like a caged lion waiting to pounce on anything i post.
I will point out again there was Clark’s initial reaction when the media were waiting for him in the tunnel after the final whistle, he said ‘the vultures are waiting’ and disappeared into his office refusing to answer questions. A full press conference later was conducted with Rob Law of Tees, all the info is on X but as usual you just sound off before checking stuff out.

Deffo a 22 months job now to rebuild a better team from the new manager.
Proper end of season midfield clear out. And Bromby

But let's have fun in the FA Cup and win the FA Trophy to try and retain the fanbase for anutha stab at it next season.

Fully expect a few to think we can still win the league like or 7th.

UTP.

I was not putting the ‘boot in’..merely highlighting your tedious habit of never, ever admitting to being wrong by ignoring your own errors…on this board and others.

I wasn’t wrong Snowy, first point of contact with the media was in the tunnel where he said the vultures have gathered already, I can’t remember from Rob’s Law podcast whether he said he was resigning then disappeared into his office. The second point of contact was the post match interview where confirmed he was resigning.
I am a 100% correct, check it out on X Snowy, if you can’t don’t say I have made an error.

He asked for all of the Press to attend a single announcement, when he arrived for the announcement he said "the vultures have gathered" and went on to give his dignified and measured resignation statement. At the end he ignored the handshake and said no questions.
Rob Law hasn't intimated that the vultures comment was in malice or that there was any bad feeling at all shown during the aftermath of the game.
Make your mind up what you can and can't remember, strangely you haven't backed up anything you've said with links although you frequently ask others to do so!!
You accuse me of jumping on your posts, yet You've done exactly that by trying to hijack Snowy earlier in this thread. Your blatant hypocrisy is never ending.

Wrong, wrong PTID.
Listen to Rob Laws podcasts on BBC Sounds, it confirms what I said, I repeat,
Initially when Clark went down the tunnel the media were waiting for him, he said ‘I see the vultures are waiting’or something similar refused to answer any questions and went straight to his office.
At a later time he conducted an interview with Rob Law on Tees.
Unfortunately as I am not in the U.K. I can’t always access BBC Sounds to provide links but I am sure a man of your intelligence is quite capable of doing that to confirm what I have already posted.

Here we go, Rob Laws explains what happened:

Thanks for that Stocksfield, for some reason I was able to listen to it, my VPN is hit and miss, take note PTID this is the conversation I was on about and Clark did ignore Rob Laws hand shake.

You seem remarkably preoccupied with me Snowy, If you spent half as much time on your own life as you do commenting on mine, you might actually get somewhere.
Your continued fixation on me is becoming rather obvious. I have no interest in whatever this is, so feel free to keep talking to yourself.

According to Rob Law, Lee Clark was always quite quick to come out of the dressing room to give post match interviews, and again according to Rob Law, Lee Clark said he wanted the media to attend as a group this time which was unusual.
So, after Saturday's match Clark went down the tunnel faster than a rat on speed, yet the media were already waiting for him, hence the vultures comment, and Rob Law stuck his hand out which was ignored. So basically they tried to hijack him instead of waiting for him to quickly come out of the dressing room, as usual. Clark, imo, in the heat of the moment hasn't lost his composure when ambushed by Rob Law and came back out and delivered a very measured, dignified, and respectful resignation speech. There was nothing "as usual" about what went on between Clark and the media after the match, there was an attempted ambush which he dealt with far better than I suspect many of us on here would have, I'd have told him to do one in no uncertain terms.
He will go down in history as being as poor as Sarll, Hartley, Jones, and many others for the results and performances on the pitch, but there's no knocking the manner of his departure.

If you can’t stand the heat in the kitchen you should get out, that’s what Clark has done, journalists were looking for a reaction that’s what they do, it’s their profession not just in football but in all walks of life.
Clark is in his mid 50s and has been in football all his life, what does he expect the fans/media to do, applaud him after the recent results ? In any walks of life if you were partly responsible for recruiting the staff and the company failed you would be sacked, Clark walked before he was sacked.

I reckon we should be signing Rob Law. As the final whistle sounded Clark was off down the tunnel. At the other side of the ground Rob Law was summarising the match and yet he managed to be in the tunnel waiting for Clark. Must be a record.

The Radio Tees commentary position is in the Cyril Knowles Stand, that would explain how Rob Law managed to confront Lee Clark.

Are you sure as a couple of times he said "right in front of us" when the action was on the mill house side.

I reckon we should be signing Rob Law. As the final whistle sounded Clark was off down the tunnel. At the other side of the ground Rob Law was summarising the match and yet he managed to be in the tunnel waiting for Clark. Must be a record.

You aren't aware of the secret tunnel under the Vic then?

Ah no, the crafty buggers.

The Radio Tees commentary position is in the Cyril Knowles Stand, that would explain how Rob Law managed to confront Lee Clark.

That is definitely NOT the case - they're in the back of the Mill House Stand
The start of every commentary Rob sets the scene and without fail, mentions the Trincolmalee masts on the Marina, behind the Cyril Knowles Stand with Pools kicking right to left into the Rink End in the first half. Closely followed by what treats Mickey Barron has turned up with, before getting onto talking about Barron's Air fryer, as we get battered by the next newest team to turn up at 'fortress' Vic

Well how did he get in the tunnel straight after the game finished, of course he would have a radio microphone and could have moved round just before the final whistle ?

Well the ‘AI ChatGPT’ (whatever that is) are Wrong.

All the commentating media are based there and have been for a long long time unless it’s a rare occasion and some outside outfit turns up for a very big match…which are also extremely rare.
Even when faced with the bleedin obvious you persist in refusing to say you could have made a simple error.
In this instance you were mistaken.

I know it’s wrong Snowy, but how many people believe what they read on Google, ChatGPT, Groc etc ?

We all get caught out by them occasionally, usually when it gives us the message we want to hear.
I tend to stand back now and let the truth emerge, saves me embarrassing myself.
