Does anyone know when the retained list has to be declared to the National league by? Also Bromby need to get moving in appointing both a manager and DOF so they can get the better players in. Just hope Bromby and partners are any good at their jobs and not as there name sounds like a firm of undertakers about to read the last rights to our club.

3rd Saturday in Mayis the official deadline I think, I'd expect most clubs to be releasing them well in advance of the deadline considering the early season finish.
Surely to feck were not going to behind the ball in finding a manager and recruiting players again??

I've got to admit that on more than one occasion I have wondered about the role of Bromby. This forum could have made LS aware of what the club needs and I'm surprised that Jeff Stelling hasn't done that. Maybe Jeff has put in his two penneth or even maybe it was he who suggested Bromby. Who knows. There is only one surefire way to get out of this league and that is as Champions, allow me to suggest we assemble a squad and backroom staff to give us a chance of that.
There you are LS, what is wrong with that advice. And it is free of charge.

Champions

He had enough time for a play off spot attempt this season.

Nothing much has changed Yet.

Can we have a proper Manager like sometime soonish.

UTP.

Aye he ignored me on the play off advice, but I'll keep at it Kev. And it's free.

Eastleigh have announced their retained list today, surely we won't be dragging our heels again will we?

Solihull Moors and Boston announced theirs yesterday.
Aldershot 2 days ago.

To be honest - I hope our retained list is waiting on the new management team to have a say. That needs putting into place before we start moaning about Boston releasing theirs yesterday.

It's fairly straightforward.
3 have to stay unless sold which won't happen.
1 has an option.

The only one worthy is Reid if its a 2 up front formation.
Charman n Parkes are decent but don't spend enough time on the pitch due to Crockness so have to go.

Id like to think Bromby will go down the route of some qualityish signings and end the stop gap Loanies malarkey.

But surely by the end of next week the New Manager and binned list is all sorted.

UTP.

Maybe get some advice from Scunthorpe.

So the new management team are announced in a week or two(or possibly longer) and in the meantime all of our NL competitors are sounding out the better players that are available and we join the party late shopping in the bargain basement AGAIN,?

exactly. thats the problem starting as a new manager you are stuck with players you do not rate or have lost some that you do. you can see it all happening again. retained list out, manager in and the better players snapped up out of the retained lists. thats after the verbal deals between clubs and players become reality.

The new Manager when appointed! Has never had it so good.
It's as good as a clean slate.

I will give him some good advice (they all use SM to get a fans view)

Play 2 up front.
Stop makeing it easier for the oppositions defenders.

UTP.

next thing you,ll be wanting is playing 4 at the back with players called full backs and wingers instead of wing backs and a keeper who commands his box.

my first job would be to try and sign the free agent Billy Sharp. finished his doncaster career yesterday with a hat trick even though he is 40. the type who would not just be here for a wage but would compete and earn every penny of it. scored a double figure of goals for a team two divisions higher than us who struggled for a time.

I would expect him to be in a similar mould to Billy Paynter. Would certainly try to get him for a year, if only to "gee up " some of the quieter members of the squad that we are likely to recruit.

Couldn't see him moving away from Yorkshire at this stage of his career. But certainly doesn't just go through the motions at any level.

Sharp won't leave West Yorkshire- next stop will be Halifax for him.
Saw a clip of his goals for Donny the other day, and he's got a massive kite on him.

Not for me- we shouldn't be looking at players in their 40's, granted he has had a good career.

I'd be looking to sign the likes of Luke Armstrong from Carlisle - he loves a goal in the north east - more so than anywhere else he has played- he'd be a statement signing for me.

as long as its the same luke who left us. does not look the same player to me especially this season. however i feel he could flourish again somewhere where he is loved. as for sharp i think he lives in sheffield so its not exactly a tedious A road single lane to the vic.

Retained List:

Maybe Bromby found a scrap of paper in the office with Fevs retained list on it and thought, NO CHANCE.
