Within 24 hours, both ‘Government’s’ have voted to ban Greyhound racing.
The irony being the ‘winners’ posing after their ‘victory’ cuddling greyhounds …make the most of it, as I suspect there’ll not be so many to cuddle in the future.
Funny how they go for soft targets but can’t go for the illegal hunters and badger baiters.

So will these people now turn their attention to Horse racing….?

I'd Deffo advocate a ban on fox hunting by these horrible arrogant Arseholes in their stupid red uniforms.

So the greyhound breed will surely become endangered as they're hardly household pets for many folk. Howa y will be euthanised simply because nobody wants them if they're trained for racing but no longer able to do so?
Similarly horse racing, most of these animals have a very high quality life but will be put down if a ban was made law. And thousands of jobs would be lost in the event of the banning of horse racing.
A crackdown on rogue and abusive practices would have been a far better solution imo.

Fox hunting has been banned since 2004, "trail hunting"—where hounds follow a scent—is technically legal, though often criticized as a loophole and set to be banned under new, stricter animal welfare strategies
I am sure fox hunting does still exist on some estates in England though.

According to Wiki there's only 1 greyhound stadium left in Wales and none at all in Scotland. 3 of the 17 stadiums in England are here in the North-East.

Off-course betting on the dogs is still big business but tiny compare to the amount wagered on the nags. And horse racing is still a massive spectator sport - in person and on screens. Even the devolved parliaments with their love of banning stuff won't be going after horse racing any time soon.

Speaking for myself, I still go horse racing a dozen times a year but haven't been to a dog track since the 1970s.

Flash Watson will be disappointed as that one of the things about living in Hartlepool he enjoyed going to the greyhound racing, I believe he has a couple himself ?

When's the Grand National as that always brings out the anti-racing groups?

Apparently four horses died at the Cheltenham festival last week but I've not heard any outcry regarding that.

Grand National meeting takes place this year, Thu 9th April to Sat 11th April.
