Documentary about Joe Allons life due out soon on Appletv.

Looking forward to this one.
I met him in the pub before the 3 3 draw at Carlisle last day of the season (great escape season I think)
Told him I was one of the 500 Poolies who seen his hattrick at Runcorn in the FA Cup1990 which was the 35 goals promotion season.
A genuine modest great lad who loves HUFC and its fans.
Will always have the status of being a Poolie Legend.

What a pity we couldn’t have gotten another season out of him after promotion, you couldn’t help but like him.
I remember cracking a joke about driving through Darlo where he passed a street with a banner across it with decorations and balloons saying [b]Happy 29th Birthday Nana[b]

just thinking that might be a little old in some areas of oldham, rochdale or dewsbury. its hard to age anybody with only two eyes and sod else on view.

watched more pools away games than at the vic around that time and it pissed me off the number of times he was written as Allen in programmes. annoys me the same when my name get spelt incorrectly even if i got away with s speeding offence once with the technicality of a mis spelt name.
