So it's the manager's fault for not persisting with Johnson or playing wee Adam Campbell as a a front man? Have you been at the glue again?

It's indisputable that we had one of our best starts ever and that Reid and Johnson were the front pairing for the start of the season.
There's no reason why Campbell couldn't play in a front 2 regardless of his size, Keegan did ok as a striker and Campbell does know where the goal is?
Just stating facts and giving an opinion, we could if course just stick with Reid as an isolated striker, give him no service, and hope things change?

'One of our best starts ever' was down to a cast iron defence - we were scoring less than a goal a game. Johnson's play has got worse the longer his goal drought continues - that's indisputable too.

Campbell's game is nothing like Keegan's - ridiculous comparison. I assume that if Reid and Oliver were both fit Feaths would play them together - why are you so sure that he wouldn't?

Yes and that defence started with a front 2 executing a high press. I'm not saying that Johnson is the answer, what I'm saying is that Reid isolated mainly with his back to goal is not working.
My Keegan comment was a response to your "wee Campbell" comment, old school often had a big one and a little one as a strike pairing.
Let's just stick with what we've got and hope results get better and the crowds don't keep dropping because of the dull football eh?

Pools current playing style is great for away games but not fit for purpose for home games. Reminds me of the Mick Wadsworth days. I just dont understand why Featherstone hasn't got the memo. Does he think that we are just a bit 'unlucky' at the Vic or the players are just a bit 'tired'. Is he not able to reflect on what is actually going wrong? If he persists with his current tactics he'll be History in January and Pools will be uncomfortably close to the trapdoor. Hope I'm wrong

dull football especially if the team is not winning is a real recipe for lower gates. on top of this its all gone quiet on the injury front regarding mcnally, charman and oliver. we pay good money to watch the club so we deserve some info about them good or bad.

It's starting to feel like Raj and 'Head of Football Operations' Joe Monks are taking the piss. Monks joined Pools just over 2 years ago and has seen off 7 managers since then! He's Pools very own Teflon man - no blame ever sticks to him.

It suits York too as they will be aware we play Rochdale and Scunthorpe over the Xmas period and will be happy for us to take points off them which helps their cause. He is 30 and has played at Lg 2 level so should hit the ground running.

Let's hope that the lad sees enough of the ball to make a difference, personally I would have preferred to see a mobile six footer playing upfront with Reid. I guess this means a continuation of Feaths drab, ineffective, crab football tactics that enabled the Nomads to progress at the weekend. We could snap up Cole Palmer and Erling Haaland but even they would be ineffective if they never received the ball.

Maybe, just maybe, the lad has a point to prove….and needs the opportunity to do so…?

Loads of managers get sacked and reborn….we don’t know the story or the atmosphere or the background to what happened at Bristol Rovers, but I imagine there’ll not be a simple answer to what happened.
Not that I’m advocating him for the job, but managers have good times and bad times depending on the club they go to.

That may be the case - it was the reference to Clarke being 'available' that I responded to. I've had enough of playing new manager roulette with Raj (12 managers and counting) and Joe Monks (7 managers in less than 3 years). Us Poolies have fallen for it time after time.
I've got nothing against Daryll Clarke/Trigger but seriously doubt that he'd even consider coming to Pools. As he's been sacked 3 times in the last 3 years I'm sure he'll know that failure at Pools would be the last straw for his managerial career.
In his interview last night Raj actually made a virtue of the fact that 'not many' of all the managers he's sacked have found any work since!
